Say you ask Are you a current customer? Customers should skip to the support questions, and everyone else should continue to the sales questions.

  1. Open the question's logic
In the Logic tab, click the question on the Map. Or open Branching and choose it under Edit logic for.
    LogicBranching
  2. Add a rule
Click + Add rule. A rule reads If … Then …
  3. Set the condition
Under If, pick the question, a comparison and an answer: Are you a current customer? equal to Yes.
  4. Choose where to go
Under Then, choose Go to and pick the question, e.g. What do you need help with? You can pick any later question or an ending.
  5. Decide what everyone else does
All other cases go to is the next question unless you change it.
  6. Save and test
Click Save, then Preview and try both answers.

How a question's rules work

  • Rules are checked top to bottom. The first rule that matches wins. See Rule order.
  • If no rule matches, the person goes to All other cases go to.
  • A question without rules simply continues to the next question.
  • Always go to sends everyone to the same place, whatever they answered.
Can I jump backwards?
Yes, but take care: going back to an earlier question can create a loop. The live assessment stops following a jump after 10 visits, and Check warns you about loops.
My rule doesn't seem to work.
Open Logic → Check. It explains every rule that never applies. Check that a rule above isn't matching first.
